Goodbye elephants...now, Oakland A's baseball room.
This year was a big year for my works on canvas, both toy and pet portraits. I was in four shows, sold 7 paintings and 4 commissions. Woo hoo! But more importantly, this was the year I got a new studio assistant. He's quite useless but damn cute!
A huge thank you to all my former clients, friends and family, for all the referrals. I couldn't have done it without you. Let's see what next year brings!
Client - "Can you paint fake brick to match existing old brick wall?"
Me - "Sure!"
This was a fun challenge. I knew it wouldn't look as realistic if I just painted on the existing flat surface so first I created the brick and grout texture. Then primed and brushed multiple layers of paint and glaze to achieve the look of brick.
It was a pleasure working with Denise at Wickford Kitchen & Bath on this project.
Some other paint projects the required me to match existing finish to hide or enhance the space.
